Understanding Your Connect Passwords and Recovery Phrase
After creating your Connect account, it’s normal to feel overwhelmed by the different passwords and security details you need to remember.
Use this guide as a quick reference for what each credential does — and how to keep your account secure.
Account Password
Your Account Password is used together with your email to sign in to your Connect account. You create this password when setting up your Connect profile.
What it’s used for
Logging in at web.connectunited.com
Logging into your partner brand accounts when Auto-Link has been used.

How to Reset your Account Password
- Reset it in your Connect user menu under Account Settings and Password
- If you forget your Account Password, reset it by clicking Forgot Password on the sign-in screen. A password reset link will be emailed to you.
Encryption Passcode, also called Wallet Passcode
Your Wallet Passcode protects your Connect Wallet. Think of it like the PIN that guards your bank account.
What it’s used for
This passcode is required for all wallet activity, including:
Making purchases
Sending currency or rewards
Accessing and managing your WIN
Any on-chain transaction within your wallet
For your security, your Wallet Passcode should always be different from your Account Password.
How to reset your Encryption Passcode
The only way to reset your Encryption Passcode is by entering your Recovery Phrase (Seed Phrase) in
Account Settings → Wallet → Encryption Passcode.

Recovery Phrase also called Seed Phrase or 12-Word Backup Phrase
Your Recovery Phrase is the set of 12 words you received when creating your Connect Wallet. These 12 words are the master key to your wallet.
Why it’s so important
It is your ONLY backup.
Connect cannot recover it for you.
Anyone with these 12 words can fully access your wallet.
Because of this, it is absolutely essential to store your Recovery Phrase securely.
How to keep it safe
Write it down and keep it in a secure place
Never screenshot it
Never save it on your phone, computer, or cloud storage
Never share it with anyone — not even Connect Support
