What Is Auto Activation Node Hosting?
***Please note this is a new Beta Service as of February 2026. During this Beta Phase we are working through some bugs to improve the process. If you are experiencing any issues, please check out this link to Troubleshooting Auto Hosting***
What is auto activation node hosting?
Auto activation node hosting or auto hosting means that when you purchase a qualifying node product from any of the brands listed through Connect, your nodes will be automatically hosted for you through the unified hosting platform provided by Codex / Block Fabric.
This means you do not need to purchase separate hosting, configure servers, or manage infrastructure yourself. The hosting is activated automatically as part of the product you bought.
Auto Hosting for SmartNode purchases began February 9, 2026.
Auto Hosting for BlockBot and Droid purchases began February 1, 2026.
How Does It Work?
- When you buy a node product from one of the eligible brands listed at connectunited.com, that node product includes hosting (the length of time included depends on the product purchased).
- Your purchased nodes are automatically provisioned and hosted through the Codex / Block Fabric platform.
- There is no additional setup required on your end to get your nodes running.
What Determines How Much Hosting I Get?
The amount and type of hosting you receive depends on the specific node product you purchased. Different node products include different hosting terms and resources as defined by that product.
Do I Need to Do Anything to Activate This Hosting?
No. Auto activation means the hosting begins automatically when you purchase the node product — you don’t need to manually set up or activate hosting separately.
Where Does the Hosting Happen?
The nodes you purchase are hosted through the Codex / Block Fabric hosting platform. Over time the service will transition fully under the Codex name, but both names refer to the same hosting infrastructure.
Do I Need Technical Knowledge?
No. Auto activation hosting is designed so that you receive hosted nodes without needing to configure servers, terminals, sync scripts, or other technical infrastructure.
Do I Have to use Codex / Block Fabric for Hosting?
No, you do not have to use Codex / Block Fabric. You can use other third party hosting services as well as self host the nodes yourself.
For more information on this please visit: How can I activate and run my Nodes?
What If I Already Have Hosted Nodes?
If you already have nodes hosted through Codex / Block Fabric, your service continues as usual. Auto activation hosting applies to newly purchased node products going forward.
How Do I Log In to Codex / Block Fabric?
When your nodes are automatically hosted, a Codex / Block Fabric login is created for you using the same credentials as your Connect account.
If you already have nodes hosted, you can view and manage them by logging into your Codex / Block Fabric account at blockfabric.host using your Connect login details.
There is no separate registration required — your access is automatically linked to your Connect account.
Troubleshooting Auto Hosting
As this is a new service, there will some bugs as this is being rolled out. Here are a few tips and tricks to help troubleshooting if it does not work for you as expected.
-
You should see your new auto hosted nodes showing up as Online in your My Nodes section within one hour of purchase, however during this Beta phase it may take a little longer.
If you do not see these online within one hour of purchase, do not set up an instance in Block Fabric. This would create a duplicate entry and cause additional issue.
If you do not see them online (in My Nodes) after 24 hours, please submit a ticket to Codex / BlockFabric at support@blockfabric.host. Be sure to include the email address that your account is registered under. -
Make sure all of your brand partner wallets are linked. For more information on how to do this, please check Import Connect Wallet to Brand Accounts.
- At this time, auto hosting is only applicable to monthly hosting subscriptions. If you have existing annual hosting subscriptions with an existing accounts this could cause a conflict with this new service.
