After creating an account, you may feel a little overwhelmed at all the information that you need to keep track of. Please consult the below list for a reminder of what each of your passwords is used for:
Account Password
Your Account Password is used to sign into your Connect account. You will create your account password when you create your Connect.
You can change your Account Password by logging into web.connectunited.com and navigating the User Menu and Account Settings. If you lose your password, it can be reset by selecting the "Forgot Password" option on the sign-in screen. You will be emailed a link to change your password. For further help resetting your password, click here.
Your Account Password is also required to set your nodes up on a VPS, such as Block Fabric or Vultur. For more info on running nodes on a VPS click here
Encryption Passcode (Also referred to as Wallet Passcode)
Encryption Passcode guards your Connect wallet, and should be different than your Account Password. Think of it like a PIN for your bank account. It is the password you set when you created your wallet, and is required for any wallet transactions: whenever you make a purchase, send any currency or rewards out of your wallet, or to access any WIN you receive in the future. Again, it is important for your wallet security to make your Encryption Passcode different from your Account Password.
If you lose your Encryption Passcode the only way to reset it to enter your Recovery Phrase under Account Settings and Encryption Passcode.
In order to reset your Encryption Passcode using the 12-Word Backup Phrase, click here
Recovery Phrase (also referred to as 12-Word Backup Phrase)
This is the 12 words that you write down when creating your Connect Wallet. The Recovery Phrase is your ONLY backup for your wallet. Connect does not have a copy and cannot recover a lost Recovery Phrase. It is extremely important that you write this phrase down and store it somewhere safe. Never screenshot your Recovery Phrase or save it to your computer or phone. Keep a hardcopy of your Recovery Phrase somewhere secure. Never share your Recovery Phrase with anyone.
If for any reason you lose or forget your Encryption passcode, you can use this phrase to recover it.
